Content Creation Doesn’t Have to be Stressful

My 2021 Content Creation Strategy

  • Takes an hour to think of what to post
  • Shoots 100 very similar photos of a flatlays (another hour lost)
  • Sorts through those 100 photos to pick my favorite 5
  • Edits my top 3 (but why? lol)
  • Agonizes over which one is THE ONE
  • Asks booksta besties which one is best even though they literally look the same
  • Overthinks caption
  • Decides not to post the photo
  • Posts the photo

Total time for 1 photo = 3 hours

My 2025 Content Creation Strategy

  • Writes down ideas in my phone’s notes app as they come
  • Takes 1 hour to batch 1-2 weeks worth of content
  • (OR, takes 4 minutes to film a spur of the moment tiktok)
  • Barely edits
  • Doesn’t overthink caption
  • Posts said content

Total time per content = 20 min

Ditch the Stressful Content Strategy

When was the last time you opened IG, knowing you should post something but having absolutely no idea what that something was going to be? (no shame, we’ve ALL been there, myself included)

How did it make you feel?

Unless you THRIVE on uncertainty and love to live on the wild side (where are my chaotic book besties at?), you probably didn’t feel great. You might have even been pretty stressed or overwhelmed. Maybe you’ve been feeling that way for a while.

What if I told you there is another way? And it’s easier than you think.

Enter Content Batching

Content batching can be as simple as setting aside a day to shoot, edit, write, and schedule content. But I like to take it one step further by breaking it into four simple steps.

  1. Start with a Content Brainstorm List.

Use my free Content Creation Guide to establish your content pillars and do a quick brainstorming session. I also recommend creating a note in your phone where you can jot down ideas as they come so you always have a running list of content ideas. (because we are all about saving you time and creative energy in this corner of the internet!)

  1. Choose a Content Batching Day.

Start by setting aside one day each week to batch content for the upcoming week. Of course, as you get more comfortable with it, you can extend this to batch content for two or more weeks. Find a posting frequency that works for you and aligns with your available time, and then stick with it.

  1. Commit to a Time Block.

Pick an hour on your batching day to dedicate solely to taking photos and filming reels. Don’t worry about editing or writing captions just yet. The goal here is to create as much visual content as possible by leaning into your flow and creative energy.

Use that good lighting (see this blog for lighting tips) and hit record. And remember, this works best when you already have a brainstorm list (otherwise, you spend half of your batching day thinking of what content to create).

  1. Editing and Post-Creation.

Now, it’s time to edit your posts and write your captions. You can do this by setting aside another weekly time block, or, like me, you can save it for the night before.

The reason I do this is so my content feels as fresh as possible (and as aligned with what I’m in the mood to post at the time. Mood posting is a thing!) The important thing is to free up time and reduce stress, so choose whichever route does that best for you.

The key to content batching is finding a system that fits best into your life and ensures consistent quality in your posts. So, experiment with these steps and figure out what works best to free up your time and reduce your stress while creating content that represents your unique brand and attracts your target audience.

TLDR:

Content creation doesn’t have to be stressful! Content batching is all about freeing up your time and creative energy, streamlining the content creation process, and keeping your content fresh and consistent with your unique brand. Get started with my FREE Content Creation Guide.
